I set up an online appointment for 1pm but received a callback telling me that they had to push my appointment to 2pm. I arrived 2 hours prior to my 2pm appointment to just drop off the car for it's maintenance and went to a nearby restaurant to have lunch and kill some time. When I decided to return, I found my car being driven and then parked. I went up to the driver and asked when my car will be done. When I heard a noise coming from underneath my truck on the freeway and then it became more frequent, I took it to Chevrolet of Puyallup. Daryl, the service lead, took it in and later the same day it was fixed. Thank God, it wasn't a big problem, and the service department as a whole is great. I will return for oil changes or anything else that needs fixing. My truck only has 226,000 miles on it and I want to keep it for as long as it keeps running. I was referred to Dean @ Puyallup Chevrolet by my mother-in-law. I contacted him and he set me up with an appointment with David. My wife and I met with David yesterday and told him what we were looking for - a work car for me that is comfortable and gets good MPG. Dave showed us a couple of different cars including some used options and ran the numbers for us. He was very helpful and knoweldgable about the cars and did not pressure us at all. I purchased a 2007 Chevy Silverado extended cab. It was a very clean truck for few blemishes and was a good price, ~13,800. I went in looking to spend 14,000-15,000 including taxes, registration, and fees. I made it out at 14,500. The whole process was only a few hours and the father/son combo was a good team. Oscar did a great job on keeping my interest and expediting the formalities. His son was an excellent salesman and went with me on the test drive. He introduced me to an area of puyallup I had not frequented before and showed some good windy roads. Overall the team did well. One recommendation though, both had a habit of talking about how the dealership was all about the customer. I don't think that should ever come out of an employees mouth. All of the staff were helpful finding a car that was comfortable for my wife. We are amazed at all the new features. Especially the side mirror indicators alerting to blind spots with traffic. My first reaction was "so what" but after driving the car for a few days it has become a wonderful safety feature. I am also pleased it has a spare tire. I was shocked at the number of new cars that do not offer spare tires. We have purchased or leased 6 cars over the past 13 years from this dealership and we are very appreciative of the service department and especially Luanne, who works there and has gone out of her way to ensure, my wife and daughters were helped whenever needed. She stayed late and arranged for a rental so my daughter would not have to be late to her first career job after graduating from college. I asked her to do what she could because I was working late in Seattle in direct patient care and could not get there to handle details. I brought my Monte Carlo in with 3 items needing attention: LOF, creaking noise when turning the steering wheel, and an intermittent HVAC issue of failing to defrost when the outside temp is under 40 and an odor when running the air conditioner. The first 2 issues were dealt with successfully but testing failed to find anything wrong with the HVAC system. I fully understand that if the problem isn't present, it cannot be diagnosed and eventually fixed. This service was for warranty work where parts were ordered from main distribution out of state. The appointment was scheduled according to my needs. Unfortunately, my needs changed a little so when I dropped the Traverse off, I told the service rep that I needed it back absolutely no later than a certain time.. was that possible?
